Salesforce Establishes First AI Center in London, UK
Salesforce, the world’s leading AI-driven customer relationship management (CRM) platform, has strategically chosen London for its first-ever dedicated AI Center. This initiative underscores Salesforce’s commitment to advancing artificial intelligence and supporting the UK’s growth as a global leader in AI innovation. In 2023, Salesforce announced a substantial $4 billion investment in the UK over five years to fuel advancements in AI. The establishment of this AI Center is a significant milestone within that investment, demonstrating Salesforce’s confidence in the UK as a hub for AI development and talent. As part of this investment focus, Salesforce Ventures, the venture capital arm of the company, has already committed over $200 million to UK-based companies like ElevenLabs, a text-to-speech and AI voice generator, and AutoGenAI, an AI-driven bid writing engine.
The UK AI Center was officially launched during Salesforce’s annual London World Tour, where over 17,500 attendees gathered to hear from prominent customers such as Aston Martin, McLaren Racing, Simplyhealth, Just Eat Takeaway, and John Lewis Partnership. During the event, Salesforce also unveiled the latest enhancements to its AI product suite and announced that its Data Cloud will soon be available on Hyperforce – a robust, scalable cloud platform architecture designed for secure and resilient public cloud operations. UK-based customers will gain access to this powerful resource starting in July, broadening their capabilities to leverage data securely and efficiently in AI applications.
In a keynote address, Zahra Bahrololoumi, CEO of Salesforce UK and Ireland, highlighted the enormous growth potential of the UK AI market, which is projected to reach over $1 trillion by 2035. She emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to maximize AI’s benefits and drive economic growth. “By locating Salesforce’s first AI Center in London, we are sending a clear message to customers and partners on AI: we are deeply committed to working closely together so that you can reap the rewards of this transformative technology, while ensuring it is a force for good,” Bahrololoumi stated.
